Schedule of lectures, fall 2019

FÍA‘s Educational Fund offers a variety of interesting lectures this fall, held in Icelandic. The lectures will be given at Grjótnes, the FÍA hall in Hlíðarsmári 8, between 12:00-14:00. All FÍA members are welcome!

Thursday, 5 September
The Back School

Hildur Sólveig Sigurðardóttir, physiotherapist, will inform FÍA members about the bodies musculoskeletal system and risks related to pilots, with an emphasis on preventive measures.

The lecture is held in collaboration with the FÍA Sickness Fund.

Monday, 30 September
Ipad 101

An educator from Iðan Education Center will teach us all about how to use an Ipad and what it can be used for.

Tuesday, 15 October
Mountain travelling

Guðmundur Helgi Önundarson from the Landsbjörg (Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue) safety school tells us about mountain travelling, with an emphasis on hunting and sport.

Tuesday, 26 November
Flying Healthy

Sisters Margrét and Elísa Viðarsdóttir will combine their expertise in a lecture that journeys from mental health to nutrition, and how taking care of these elements can increase productivity or simply improve your life.

The lecture is held in collaboration with the FÍA Sickness Fund.

Tuesday, 10 December
How‘s the weather?

Meteorologist Einar Sveinbjörnsson will discuss advances in meteorology, data processing and presentation as well as going over various aspects that are related to our occupation.
